Link says I've got a 'Failed or Interrupted' connection and can't download Universe


Typically this error message means Link had, at some point, encountered an interrupted or failed connection between itself and our servers. If you retry your download and it still fails, try these steps:

  • Close all intensive programs (namely Link)
  • On Mac head to /Users/Shared/Red Giant/
    • You can copy & paste that file path into Finder's Go > Go to Folder... option in the top menu bar
  • On Windows head to C:\ProgramData\Red Giant\
    • ProgramData is a hidden file path, you may need to copy & paste the file path above into the address bar of a File Explorer window to get there
  • Remove the contents of the 'Downloads' folder at that location
  • Retry your download
